Marketing professional and teacher as the same time? Yes we can!

My parents were both teachers so that teaching was somehow already in my genes. It came as no surprise that at a younger age I did want to become a teacher: either English or French (as native language) - journalist was also on my wish list.
Though my professional plans were kind of blurry, the common denominator was my love for languages, and words as a whole. Since nothing happens the way you plan, life brought me to international marketing, an area I really enjoy and that enabled me to discover many cultures, languages, countries and extraordinary people.
My little inner voice kept stalking me though, and in a way she caught me when I was lost in an ocean of doubts, concerns and life happenings. I decided to transform aspiration into action. I started my curriculum for the DAEFLE (Diploma in teaching French as a foreign language) in 2019 and passed my exam in Denver, Colorado (USA) in December 2020. From there, within the context of a pandemic, I started to give lessons online. Based on the academic knowledge and skills I acquire during my studies I built up French sessions for my students with my own tools, my own method and my own style.
Learning language should be a pleasure above all. I tailor my lessons to the objectives, needs and wishes of my student. Everyone is unique and I strive for a smooth learning with themes and activities that my students like so that every lesson remains a fun and enjoyable experience!
“Ingrid helped me and my daughter improve our French by tailoring the classes to what we needed, finding resources that would expose us more to French in formats we enjoyed such as shows and comics so that our homework was fun to complete and not a chore.
She went above and beyond to help us improve our vocabulary by adding and teaching words relevant to what we were discussing at each session, and whenever we sought out new words.
She made sure we practiced verb conjugations, especially in the context of the vocabulary we were interested in and made up scenarios for us to role play and practice our French with each other, with everyone taking turns practicing with her and also encouraging us to practice with each other outside of lessons, providing both scripts to follow and scenarios to improvise with.
All in all, Ingrid is a kind and attentive teacher who has infinite patience and perfectly timed humor that brightens up any lesson.
